D'après le site DVD Active, les versions longues de la trilogie LE SEIGNEUR DES ANNEAUX seront proposés en haute définition et à la vente aux Etats-Unis le 28 juin. La boîte s'annonce assez lourde puisqu'elle contiendra 15 disques ! A l'heure actuelle, il n'y a pas de vente au détail annoncée pour chacun des films. Première constatation, il a été choisi de conserver la coupure en deux parties des trois métrages comme c'était le cas sur les éditions DVD. Il faudra donc changer de disques au milieu de chacun des films. Autre point et ce n'est pas DVD Active qui le révèle, il semblerait que les films seront sous-titrés et pas seulement en anglais. En effet, plusieurs langues européennes dont le français sont annoncé ce qui ne devrait pas faire plaisir à ceux qui distribuent les films dans d'autres pays, si cela se confirme, à commencer par Metropolitan sur le territoire français. Toutefois, l'édition britannique est déjà annoncée pour la même date et il est possible que la sortie se fasse de manière mondiale. Enfin, il est à noter que s'il y a quinze disques, seul les deux premiers, pour chaque film, sont des Blu-rays. La plupart des suppléments seront donc proposés sur DVD.
